Wonderful post from Chris for those who NEED to delete their purchased domain names. In this case, they bought five and wanted to use 4 as domain aliases.

What's happened here is an unfortunate drawback of purchasing a domain
name while signing up for Google Apps. This is a technical limitation
between the connection we have between our systems and GoDaddy/eNom.
You'll want to contact eNom at the dedicated number for Google Apps
customers who purchased domains through our process: 425-974-4623
You will want to explain to them that you want to break the connection
that exists and create your own standalone eNom account. Just a heads
up that we've heard from some customers that this process can be a
little tedious. Once they've processed your request you'll then be
able to add those domains as aliases to your Google Apps accounts.
You'll also want to delete your Google Apps accounts for the aliases.
With this type of account, you can't delete them, so you'll need to
contact the Support team at
http://www.google.com/support/a/bin/static.py?page=troubleshooter.cs&...
and select "Administration-->Can't access control panel-->I just
signed up but can't access my account" and then click the "Contact us"
hyperlink.
Please note in any of the fields exactly what's going on so the agent
who handles your request will have the context. This is not a normal
request so you'll want to keep that in mind.
On another note, you can access the GoDaddy/eNom control panels by
going to the direct URL. It is not advised that customers access
their DNS settings since our systems may occasionally change the PIN
number for security purposes. Logging into your Google Apps Dashboard
will automatically update the PIN.
We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, we're hoping to
resolve this issue soon to prevent this from occurring to other
admins.
